Pairing hand-turned bobbins and decorative painting, our handpainted Abacus Lamps are a joyful collaboration between Tess and her husband, furniture maker Alfred Newall.
A design created exclusively for Wicklewood, stripes of colour and decorative accents celebrate the oversized bobbins of Alfred Newall's Jack Lamp. A statement piece reminiscent of vintage games, our Abacus Lamp is available in two sizes, Medium and Grand.

Production
Made from solid oak, the bobbin components are hand-turned in Sussex on a traditional wood lathe. Simultaneously spinning and shaping, it begins square and through careful use of a chisel, the sequence of bobbin rounds are formed. Each piece is unique and celebrates the individual grain patterns found in the timber.
